Aerial Unit Report: March 2024March was a busy month for our Aerial Unit. Notable operations included two missing persons searches, five veterinary cases, a rhino conservation exercise, two bushfires, the rescue of a pair of unique orphans, along with the usual support for human-wildlife conflict mitigation, anti-poaching operations, and daily patrols.

Watch: 12-Hour Saga to Free a Trapped BullIt was Friday night when our Kaluku Operations Room received the call: Coming back from a patrol, a SWT/KWS Anti-Poaching Team had discovered a large elephant stuck in mud. Darkness had fallen and it was too late in the day for an extrication operation, but we had a plan.
